We are seeking a highly motivated Municipal Attorney (Senior Associate) to join our growing public law practice in Northeast Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with municipalities and other public-sector clients on a wide range of complex legal matters impacting local government operations.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will serve as trusted counsel to municipal clients, including city councils and administrative officials, providing practical and strategic legal advice across multiple areas of local government law. This role is well-suited for an experienced attorney who values client interaction, variety of practice areas, and meaningful public-sector work.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in a private law firm and/or local government law department
- Active Ohio Bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Experience advising municipalities or other public entities in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Land use and zoning
- Public records and open meetings
- Public contracts and procurement
- Governmental and sovereign immunity / liability
- Public-sector employment and labor matters
- Litigation involving or defending governmental entities
- Representation of private parties interfacing with local governments
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel to municipal clients, including attendance at council and board meetings as needed
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and policies
- Advise clients on compliance with Ohio statutes governing public entities
- Represent municipalities in administrative proceedings and litigation matters
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions
